Visited Billie’s in November 2025 and had a great experience. Billie is an amazing host with the help of Weston who was great to get along with. I definitely recommend a stay here for the great vibes and clean rooms/common area. Plenty of blankets if you’re cold during the cold months, heat is always on.

Billie’s is INCREDIBLE. This is what a hostel should be like. A place for travellers who want to feel at home no matter where they come from. Simple and everything you need. I still can’t get over how Billie walks out at 45 below in a top and sandals while I’m fumbling for my 4th layer! Inspiration…

For a First experience in a Hostel I loved it!!. It’s very homey and comfortable and The Owner is Very sweet so thankful for her!! The area is Walking distance to a lot of places as well which was a plus for me!! Definitely Recommend!

Stayed for a week in October. Hostel was located near a bus stop. Nice place to stay for the week and meet new people. There was a nice common room where you can make food and mingle with the other travelers. The basics are always in the kitchen like rice, oats, baking supplies, spices, pots and pans, and the free pile left from previous people. Be prepared to sleep in a hallway (where my bed was). I felt safe staying at Billie’s backpacking hostel as a solo traveler. Free bicycles with helmets and locks are offered. This was how I was able to go around the city if I didn’t want to take the bus system which is not 7 days a week. house was locked to people who were not staying at the hostel.

I spent four nights at Billie’s Hostel and it was such an amazing time there! Billie and Art were so welcoming and helped me out with questions I had even before I arrived. The hostel feels like home, the kitchen has utensils and spices for cooking, the dorms and bathrooms were clean. There are bus stops nearby that can get you downtown, to the university and to the airport easily.

This has to be one of the best stays I ever had. Mrs. Billie is like a grandmother figure. Takes care of all of here guests and makes you feel apart of the family. Her son was very helpful, kind, genuine and polite. If iam ever in fairbanks or near I will definitely swing by.

Billie's represents everything positive about the hostel experience. The shared kitchen is well-stocked, the rooms are clean, and the beds are comfy. The guests who stay here tend to be from around the world and represent a wide variety of ages. The hostel is set up in a manner that encourages gathering around the big communal table and chatting/eating/planning. Guests tend to be very friendly and outgoing, and of course Billie makes sure that everyone is comfortable and happy with their stay.

Billie’s lived up to our expectations and more! My teenage daughter and I spent one night and loved it. Billie is kind and inviting. The hostel/house feels cozy and filled with history and memories. I was hoping to see the Aurora and managed to see a ribbon of dancing green lights right outside the hostel. There’s a wonderful cafe less than five minutes away. :)

Great place with lovely people. Wonderfully quirky place with a mix of old fashioned furniture and decorations from a Round the world. Billie and her family and friends are lovely. Thanks also To Joe for our long chat while our Lau dry was on. Close to a farmers Market and also Creamer’s Field so you can walk in the park and see Sandhill Cranes. Honestly you have to stay here when in Fairbanks- it’s a total classic!
